The bootloader is locked so I've never been able to root it or do anything "fun" with it. ¹ I'd love to, but I've got an H812, which as near as I can tell is a model that's customized for my cell provider (Freedom Mobile, formerly WIND Mobile). Have I missed anything? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! Wouldn't there be some indication on the screen if it were a boot loop? The first 3 digits of my serial number are 507. One commenter suggested it was a boot loop. This poor soul seems to have had a similar problem to mine. Could it be possible that my phone overheated and damaged itself? I don't imagine heating my phone could fix it - could it? This user apparently "fixed" their problem by sitting their phone in front of a heater for half an hour. My phone was fine minutes before class started, because I was using it. ![]() But I've never done such a thing.¹ And I certainly wasn't doing it during my gym class. This reddit result implies that this flavour of bricking can happen if you're not really careful about flashing custom firmware to the G4. Some googling for that phrase leads me to believe that the phone can appear that way if it's severely effed. But Windows said it was setting up a new device - something called a Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 - and not a phone at all. So when I got home, I plugged it into my computer to charge it. It never got as far as the animated screen, and now it won't even try to turn on again. I popped the battery and reinstalled it, and the phone briefly turned on, but only long enough to show the "LG, life's good" static image for several seconds, and then it turned off again. Use QFIL to flash the LS770 recovery file, it works on LS770 with ZV5 only. When I changed back into my pants after going to the gym, my phone (which I'd left in my pants pocket, as always) appeared to be off, and it wouldn't turn on. If you hard bricked at LS770ZV5, then you can unbrick it by flashing the recovery file with QFIL Use QFIL to flash the LS770 recovery file, it works on LS770 with ZV5 only.
